You probably have a skincare routine you stick to religiously…unless
you’re tired. Or you’re on vacation. Or it’s Wednesday. Sometimes our
good skintentions (see what I did there?) get put on hold when real life
gets in the way. And that’s totally fine.
We asked Lisa, one of Soon Skincare’s
founders, what she does when she’s too tired or too busy for a full
skincare routine, and she told us her 5 essential steps. Read on to
learn the five things you absolutely can’t skip to keep your skin in
sublime shape:
1. Remove your eye makeup
Not removing your eye makeup can lead to infections, clogged pores,
and premature signs of aging. Because the area around your eyes is so
sensitive Lisa suggests using the the Sweet Relief Makeup Remover Cloth to gently remove harsh makeup.
2. Wash your face
“Wash your face morning and night, no matter how tired you are,” says
Lisa. Washing your face removes oil, sweat, dirt, and other debris that
can clog pores and make your skin look dull and can contribute to fine
lines and wrinkles.
3. Exfoliate
Lisa exfoliates every other day, but recommends starting off a couple
of times a week to see how your skin adjusts, then increasing or
decreasing frequency as needed. Exfoliating sloughs dry skin off the
surface of your face and unclogs pores. You’ll see more radiant skin and
you’ll encourage cell turnover. The Polish Pack Exfoliating Washcloth and Mitt Duo
is great for physical exfoliation. Use the Korean Exfoliating Washcloth
for full-body exfoliation, and use the Korean Exfoliating Mitt to
gently exfoliate your face.
4. Hydrate
“Our Mermaid Marine Collagen Serum
is wonderful for this,” says Lisa. That’s because it contains marine
collagen—the most absorbable form of collagen—to help to prevent water
loss. It also contains hyaluronic acid for added hydrating powers. Use
Mermaid Marine Collagen Serum within five minutes after showering and
press a dime-sized amount of the serum into your face. Regular hydration
keeps your skin healthy and plump-looking.
5. Mask regularly
Refresh and renew skin by regularly sheet masking. “Treat your skin to a sheet mask a
couple of times a week for an added boost. It is worth the time and the
money for the masks—you only have one face, and you want to take care
of it!” Sheet masks cling to the curves your face and press serum deeper
into the skin, where they can hydrate, strengthen the skin barrier, and
provide other benefits depending on the sheet mask’s serum
ingredients.
While you may be too tired for a full skincare routine, be sure not
to skip these five must-do steps. Your skin will thank you, and you’ll
have fewer skin problems to correct with proper skincare. Recent post.
